Even though they feature a wintertime pattern, you can use these Winterberry dishes any time of the year to remind you of the fun and beauty of winter. Each dinner plate, bowl, and teacup has a thin green stripe around the outer edge, a ring of holly berries and branches, and an embossed filigree pattern in white. The saucers feature just the green stripe and filigree. The 16-piece set provides service for four, consisting of 10-inch dinner plates, 6-inch soup/cereal bowls, 8-ounce teacups, and 6-inch saucers. As with all Pfaltzgraff dishes, single replacement pieces are available for broken items. The stoneware is microwave-, oven-, freezer-, and dishwasher-safe. Three-year warranty. --Doree Armstrong

| I have several pieces in this Pfaltzgraff pattern and I enjoy using them for entertaining over the holidays or for small family get-togethers. There are numerous pieces available in this lovely holiday pattern. Pfaltzgraff dinnerware is very sturdy and easy to take care of. I highly recommend this particular line of Pfaltzgraff. |

The price is right (I checked at department stores) and it arrived very quickly. There was a broken dish in two of the three sets I bought, but they were replaced without a problem by calling direct to Pfaltzgraff.

Beautiful dishes for the holidays

| These dishes are just gorgeous. We use them not only for the holidays beginning at Thanksgiving, but all throughout the winter months as well. They're just so pristine white that it reminds you of snow. They're just so fitting with all your other decorations for the holidays and throughout winter as well. However, they are typical Pfaltzgraff and do mar quite easily with knives and forks so be prepared to get out the cleanser to get off the black marks. They come off with a little elbow grease and look like new. Plus, the coffee cups with this set I just LOVE. They're just the right size, not too big, not too small and fit in a lady's hand just perfectly. |

More beautiful than pictured...these are ULTRA Corelle!!!

This listing fails to mention that these dishes are from the Ultra line which are significantly thicker and heavier than just the normal square dishes Corelle has recently released. This is fabulous because I was concerned that the old Corelle I remember is a bit thin. These carry a 5-year warranty vs. the regular 3-yr.
This pattern is more beautiful in person; the leaves have a great texture to them. The pattern is softer and less "limey" in person (in a good way). Don't shy away from Corelle because they aren't known for style (I almost did). The durability and beauty of these dishes are unmatched in my opinion. Purchased two sets for special occassion dinners and everyday use. |

We've been getting sick of replacing dishes, so I spent some time looking around for the perfect set. Corelle was hands-down what all the other parents recommended for durable microwave-safe dishes - they can even be used in the oven! I loved the Ultra 5yr warrenty and the style of Corelle's square dishes. This was the only square Ultra pattern, however, and while I liked bamboo I wasn't sure about the precise shade of green.
Thanks to another reviewer who said the green wasn't actually so limey, I decided to give them a try. They just arrived, and I love them! The green is subtley different - a little less yellow, just enough to make it feel bright and peaceful rather than overly attention-grabbing. The square dishes are novel without being weird. I used the bowl for breakfast, and found that the square shape makes it easier to pick up and carry to and from the table. When I heated the bowl in the microwave, it did get warm - but I could pick it up by the rim right away. This wasn't true for our old melamine plastic dishes. The dishes stack efficiently in the cupboard - I was shocked but pleased by the flatness of the final stack of plates.
We bought two sets, and I am so glad we did. I would hate to decide later on we want enough dishes for company and not have the pattern being made any more! I hope Corelle makes more Ultra square patterns. This pattern is good for our family, but most of my friends would probably prefer a simple modern-looking floral pattern, like the normal line of square dishes' pink flowers pattern.
Oh, it's a bit hard to see - but yes, the cups are a rounded square on top, too. It looks really cool. |
